Unglued 2 and Eldraine’s Follow-Up Were Canceled at Different Stages

Asked how late a set had been scrapped, Mark Rosewater said on Blogatog on November 4, 2026, that Unglued 2 “had art in,” making it “pretty late.” The set had reached the art stage before it was canceled.

The next day, answering a question about the earliest point a set had been scrapped, Rosewater said on Blogatog that a second Eldraine set, planned to follow Throne of Eldraine, was killed during the first month of vision design. That project became Theros Beyond Death. The examples mark very different stopping points: Unglued 2 had art, while the Eldraine follow-up was redirected near the start of design.
