Star Trek Update Adds Three Rules and Changes Werewolf Pack Leader

Wizards’ Star Trek Update Bulletin adds rules for “face a dilemma,” “assimilate” and “beam me up,” plus rule 508.4e for Kira Nerys, Firebrand’s effect that can have creatures enter tapped and attacking. It also updates rule 208.3 on when noncreature objects away from the battlefield have power and toughness. New ability words are Battlefront, Federation, Seek out and Strange new worlds; Communicator is a new artifact type. New creature types include Borg, Klingon, Officer, Tribble and Vulcan.

The bulletin changes Werewolf Pack Leader’s activated ability from making it “isn’t a Human” to making it “is a Werewolf.” Wizards says the change preserves its function in almost all situations while avoiding a confusing creature-type-counting case. Prerelease events began November 6, and tabletop release is November 13, 2026. MTG Arena launches the set November 10, Wizards’ Arena announcement says.
