cool95 won the 44-player Legacy Challenge 32 on October 27, 2026, finishing 8-1 with White Beanstalk, MTGO's published results show. The playoff run went through Dimir Hogaak 2-1, another White Beanstalk 2-1, and ItsSwiftyTime's Abzan Cradle Control 2-0 in the final.

The win accompanied a sharp increase in appearances: White Beanstalk reached 8.9% in the metagame report's current trend window. Its share across the separate, full 14-day sample was 4.9%, up from 4.0% in the preceding 14 days.

The Control Plan and cool95's Changes

WastelandWhite Beanstalk wins by trading answers for threats, constraining resources with Wasteland, and letting Up the Beanstalk supply the long game. A Bant Beanstalk pilot's account, posted on February 3, 2026, describes taking that control role before closing with Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student or pressure from Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd and Quantum Riddler.

Force of Willcool95 commits heavily to that plan: 4 Force of Will, 3 Force of Negation, 4 Swords to Plowshares and 4 Leyline Binding, backed by 2 Terminus and 2 Prismatic Ending. Four Brainstorm and 4 Ponder help find the needed half of the deck. But counters alone do not finish games: TCG Contender's deck guide warns that counter-heavy draws can stall without a threat.

cool95's winning White Beanstalk list contains 80 main-deck cards and 28 lands.

Quantum RiddlerThe biggest departure is 0 Murktide Regent, compared with its inclusion in 81.8% of 33 other White Beanstalk lists over six weeks. cool95 instead retains 4 Quantum Riddler, 3 Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd and 3 Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student, alongside 2 Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath. Only 15.2% of the comparison lists played Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath.

Consign to MemoryThe counter package also extends beyond the Forces: there is 1 Consign to Memory main and 2 in the sideboard, for 3 copies total. The board adds the fourth Force of Negation, 3 Carpet of Flowers, 2 Surgical Extraction, four different blasts, Null Rod, another Wrath of the Skies and Yorion, Sky Nomad.

The Creature Matchups

Dimir Hogaak accounts for 7.6% of the 344-list, 14-day Legacy sample, making it White Beanstalk's most common leading opponent. White Beanstalk went 4-1 against it in six weeks of playoff matches, a small sample that includes cool95's quarterfinal win. Its removal-heavy configuration faces Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis, Moonshadow and Dark Matter Manipulator, with Stitcher's Supplier in the opposing core.

  • Dimir Hogaak 7.6%
  • Dimir Tempo 7.0%
  • Doomsday 6.1%
  • Eldrazi 5.8%
  • Mystic Forge Combo 5.2%
  • Sneak and Show 5.2%
  • Izzet Delver 5.2%
  • White Beanstalk 4.9%
  • Lands 4.7%
  • Tron 3.5%
  • Death & Taxes 3.5%
  • Jeskai Energy 2.9%
White Beanstalk's opponents include Dimir Hogaak at 7.6%, Dimir Tempo at 7.0% and Doomsday at 6.1% in the 14-day sample.

MyMTGO's matchup tracker gives White Beanstalk a 15-12 record against Sultai Hogaak over its last 30 days, a different archetype label. The tracker includes player-tracked matches alongside published results; these are broader records, not tournament-only match-win rates.

Carpet of FlowersAgainst Dimir Tempo, 7.0% of that field, MyMTGO reports 12-9. The opposing sideboard matters: KirdieMTG's Tempo guide recommends Sheoldred's Edict for flexibility against White Beanstalk's threats and discusses bringing in Harbinger of the Seas while anticipating Carpet of Flowers. cool95 registered 3 Carpet of Flowers, matching that expected sideboard contest.

Izzet Delver, at 5.2%, is the stronger creature-matchup signal: 3-1 in the six-week playoff sample and 19-12 in MyMTGO's broader tracker. White Beanstalk's removal-heavy plan meets Delver of Secrets, Dragon's Rage Channeler and Cori-Steel Cutter, backed by Lightning Bolt, Daze and Wasteland. We prefer this pairing to Elves, where both sets of records turn negative.

Swords to PlowsharesAgainst Elves, White Beanstalk went 2-3 in playoffs and 15-29 in the tracker. cool95 has Swords to Plowshares, Leyline Binding and Terminus, plus 1 Wrath of the Skies main and another in the board. Elves presents Green Sun's Zenith and Natural Order alongside Wirewood Symbiote and Quirion Ranger. Having plenty of removal has not translated into a winning record.

IslandEldrazi represents another 5.8% of the field. TCG Contender's guide identifies its mana-denial plan as a problem for Beanstalk's multicolour mana. cool95's 28 lands include 3 Wasteland of its own, but only 1 Island, 1 Plains and 1 Forest.

Doomsday and Sneak and Show

Doomsday occupies 6.1% of the field, and we treat it as a difficult pairing despite White Beanstalk's 3-2 playoff record. MyMTGO's broader sample is 26-36. Beanstalk contests the combo with its counters and Wasteland; Doomsday's core includes its own Force of Will, Daze and Thoughtseize alongside Dark Ritual and Doomsday.

Sneak and Show accounts for 5.2%. TCG Contender rates Beanstalk's post-sideboard games favourably. Its opposing core centres on Show and Tell and Sneak Attack, with Atraxa, Grand Unifier and Emrakul, the Aeons Torn; cool95 has seven main-deck Forces and the eighth in reserve.

The Six-Week Rise Is Uneven

Across the weeks beginning September 21 through October 26, 2026, White Beanstalk's published-list shares were 0.8%, 0.8%, 2.7%, 4.7%, 2.3% and 8.4%. That is a rising trend with a substantial reversal before the final jump, rather than six consecutive gains.
